Do you share my name with other organizations?
PETA does not share with other organizations the names, addresses, or e-mail addresses of Vanguard Society members.

PETA does exchange with other organizations the names of our non-Vanguard Society members. This is an important part of our effort to increase the number of supporters for our lifesaving work for animals. However, we will gladly refrain from exchanging the name of any non-Vanguard Society member at his or her request.

Can I make a donation in honor of someone? Or in memory of someone?
Yes, we gratefully accept donations of any amount made in honor or in memory of a special person or to commemorate a beloved animal.

To honor a special person still living, please include a note with your donation stating “in honor of [name of honoree].” If you would like us to inform the honoree of your gift, please let us know and be sure to include the honoree’s postal or e-mail address.

Should you wish to make a gift in memory of a departed friend, family member, or companion animal, our True Friends Memorial Program honors and preserves the memory of the special animals who were our true friends as well as those individuals who were true friends to animals.

Memorial donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. With a donation of $100 or more, your memorial will also be acknowledged on a special recognition page in PETA’s annual review, a keepsake publication highlighting our past year’s accomplishments in behalf of animals. We will, at your request, also send notification of the memorial gift to a family member or other individual you have designated.

Through the True Friends Web site, you also have the free option of creating an online memorial page.

If you’d like to have a leaf inscribed on our Tree of Life (on permanent display in PETA’s headquarters), this is a lovely way to commemorate milestones such as births or anniversaries, to honor those still living, or to pay tribute to the memory of a departed loved one. For a donation of $5,000, a golden leaf on the tree will be inscribed with a special message of your choosing.
