Alex BuryAlex Bury
Senior Major Gifts Officer

Alex Bury was trained as a classical chef—cooking lots of meat!—at the Culinary Institute of America. Soon after graduating, she learned about PETA and started to get involved. It didn't take long before she had started a vegan restaurant and was volunteering for PETA in Alaska and California!

A few years after opening her restaurant in the wine country, she met a group of PETA's senior staff members. She was so impressed with their dedication that she sold her restaurant and joined the PETA Foundation as a full-time staffer. Now she says, "PETA is changing the world, but none of the work could happen without our amazing donors. Working closely with donors to provide support for PETA's campaigns is very gratifying. It's so much fun to go to work here in our new Oakland office and to be a part of PETA's international work. I love to share victories and progress reports with our supporters."
